Walking About Boerne – UPDATE

The City of Boerne is taking steps to help us get fit with the addition of the 2.25 miles of walking trails around town.

The new Cibolo Trail (so named as it will follow Cibolo Creek) is made up of the Heart of Boerne, River Road Run and Fern Bank Falls.

As shown on the All Trails Map, the Cibolo Trail path begins near Ye Kendall Inn and ends at Boerne City Park.

Another new addition is the stand alone Currey Trail that stretches from E. Blanco Road to Adler Road.

The trails were completed May 2012.

The paths will compliment the existing Hill Country Mile that takes in the historic part of Main Street and the Old No. 9 Greenway Trail, (see Get on Your Feet, Something to Do, March ,27, 2011) a 1.2 mile hike and bike trail.

To help make good use of the new trails,  the city is sponsoring “Get Fit Boerne!”

This free four-week “exercise/walking initiative” kicks off at Boerne City Park on April 28, 2012 at 9 a.m.

Register as an individual, a partner or a team of 4, 6 or 8, but do so before April 10 to get your t-shirt.

To view the all trails map, register on line and print off a mileage log, go to the Get Fit Boerne! page.

See you on the paths!
